Who's Who?

Introducing the Auriol School Governors

 Hannah Cobbold - Co-opted Governor

Rita Fajobi - Co-opted Governor

A new addition to the Governing body of Auriol school in 2015 I am excited about my new Governor role. I am a career civil servant with over 20 years experience of working in diverse roles across Government. My background is in compliance and investigations and I have worked in HMRC as a Tax Specialist and currently as an Analyst. Although I have no direct experience in education I have been privileged to work closely with Universities and the National Mentoring Consortium as a Mentor helping students achieve their potential.

My personal contribution to Auriol school will be to assist in providing strong support to all staff and parents, to motivate and inspire students and commit to improving and raising standards of education. Finally I hope to meet as many parents, teachers and pupils as possible during my time as a Governor in Auriol School.

Rebecca Williams - Head of School

Karima Mould - co-Chair of Governors, Co-opted Governor

I have been passionately committed to improving outcomes for children and families and to inspiring a love of learning since I began my career as a teacher many years ago. I have loved every minute of my journey, from class teacher to deputy head and eventually headteacher of a primary school in Staines.  I retired in August 2015 with the firm intention of keeping in touch with education and utilising my skills to support the many talented teams I have had the privilege of working alongside.

As an ex headteacher I know what an important role school governors fulfil and I am looking forward to giving back something of the strength and support I have received from my governing bodies in the past. I know that the whole Auriol community shares a strong vision for achieving the very best possible for all children and I feel honoured to have the opportunity to be part of the team.

Dan Sims - Parent Governor

I have joined Auriol as a Governor in July 2014. I have worked in the educational publishing field for the last 10 years and am currently the national sales manager at Collins Learning.
There has been a huge amount of curriculum change over the last 10 years and I have worked closely with schools across the country to ensure that we create the best possible resources to help implement these changes.

In particular through my role, I have been able to develop my strategic and decision making skills and hope to utilise these skills in my role as Governor.
I am also a local resident and parent in Worcester Park and feel strongly that every child deserves the best education. I am excited and honoured to have joined the Governing body to help assist the school in its forward journey.

Jeremy White - co-Chair Co-opted Governor

I have been a Governor at Auriol since September 2012.  Prior to that I worked in Education for nearly 40 years. During that time I experienced at first hand the importance of committed and supportive governors to the success of a school in meeting the needs and aspirations of its community. Currently I am a semi-retired Educational Consultant, having spent 32 years in secondary education including eight years as Headteacher of a large mixed secondary school in the Home Counties.

I spent two years in education consultancy, supporting the initial rollout of the Academy programme, before spending a year each in the Ministry of Education in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and as an Education Management Advisor in Rwanda.  Recently I enjoyed a term as an interim Headteacher at a primary school in Surrey.

Geoff Keam - Parent Governor

I joined the school as a parent governor so that I could help the school to continue delivering the quality education to our children that it is well known for.  I have 2 daughters who attend Auriol Junior School and from my wider family, there are another 4 children who also currently attend or who will do so in the future.  As a result, I really appreciate the importance that Auriol has to our local comunity.  I believe that a school needs to provide challenging educational experiences for each and every one of its students, and that it should do so in an enjoyable way.

As a chartered Principal Engineer working for a large engineering consultancy firm based in Epsom, my role involves leading teams across the UK to deliver innovative technical solutions to our clients.  I look forward to applying these same technical and leadership skills as a governor in order to help support the school and its Senior Leadership Team to deliver the successful outcomes we are striving for.

Anne Barry - Co-opted Governor

I have enjoyed many years working in education, starting out as a teacher of mathematics in secondary schools.  My career included teaching in primary schools, a special school for children with moderate learning difficulties and several years as a teaching and learning consultant for mathematics in Surrey. I followed this with a return to teaching as a deputy head and then headteacher and over recent years I have worked as an independent consultant for teaching and learning in mathematics and as a leadership and management consultant.

I have always been passionate about providing children with the best possible opportunities for learning and I am honoured to be able to use my experience to support the strong community at Auriol School which so clearly have the outcomes for children at the centre of all they do.
