Maths at Auriol is focused on developing a deep and lasting understanding of mathematical concepts and skills. Our maths curriculum is based on the Singapore mastery approach, which builds concrete, pictorial and abstract levels of understanding. Learning is meaningfully linked to the real world, encouraging exploration, critical thinking and problem-solving. Fluency and accuracy are developed across the school through weekly arithmetic lessons and daily speedy maths activities as well as homework activities which consolidate classroom learning. Our maths curriculum is progressive and interconnected, preparing our pupils to exceed their expectations and to meet the challenges of a changing world with confidence and resilience.
